<image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>Friendship made in music is a thing forever. Cruising on sounds for the last two decades, Forbidden Dance is a new chapter in one of those friendships. Two artists from Croatia are branching out on their own after being intertwined in numerous projects on the local and regional scene all these years. There comes a time when years of collecting and spinning vinyl developes a need to acknowledge one's experience through the finest step, selecting and releasing personal favourites. In short, Forbbiden Dance will be a personal hommage to the music fed by founders immense love for different electronic soundscapes both dancefloor and lounge oriented.</image:caption>

<image:title>Alton Miller</image:title>
<image:caption>Although he was born in Chicago, Alton Miller was raised in Detroit and nowadays it is safe to say that he played one of the key roles in Detroit House scene and rise of dance electronic music there in general. Growing up on names like Santana, Stevie Wonder and Parliament Funkadelic, Alton was visiting often Ron Hardy’s Music Box alongside Derrick May and quickly got involved into mixing records but his first great contribution was teaming up with Chez Damier and George Baker in 1988 when the three opened now legendary club - The Music Institute. In the meantime, Miller released his music on Saunderson’s KMD Records and worked with Transmat Records. During the next two decades, while pursuing his musical creative process and representing the Detroit vibe, he lived in Paris and South Africa making more connections and collabs which resulted in him touring around the globe showing his love for the music that got signed on major labels like Defected, Planet E, Mahogani, King Street, Nitegrooves, Trackmode Records, Seasons and Octave Lab. 2015 saw him re-introduce his label InnerMuse Recordings with his signature sound on Whereabouts Known. During Movement 2016 in Detroit, Miller played with Chez Damier for the first time since the Music Institute closed in 1989, during a party organized by fellow DJ Kai Alce. In July 2016, Miller inaugurated the new Adeen Record Japan label with a first EP, called “More Positive Things”. He released another EP “The Vault” on Italian DJ Volcov’s record label, Neroli early October 2016. His most recent Bring Me Down EP was released on Sound Signature in 2017. Alton’s eclectic way of mixing, without never being afraid of blending the old and the new, creates a magical vibe. What House Music and Hi Tech Soul are all about.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Mechanical Man</image:title>
<image:caption>Growing up in Naples and soaking his senses in Hip-Hop scratch scene, Nicola Altieri grew his fascination from listening house remixes and the switch was inevitable. Experimenting with old tapes soaked in dirty, dense but hot sound, Nicola is pursuing the groove forged from African warmth, Detroit roughness and Chicago beats. All of this is pretty clear in his artistic output made from Akai samplers, Casio synths and Roland pedals drenched in Analog warmth and vintage Yamaha drs500. His music got picked up so far on Bosconi Records, Cognitiva Records, Denied Area, Eat More House, Save the Groove, Nómada and Flumo records. Incisive, penetrating, emotional and melodic, The Mechanical Man is a moniker with a groove statement so listen up, you won’t be disappointed!</image:caption>

<image:title>Dead Horse Gang</image:title>
<image:caption>Strafing the global disco and house scene for almost twenty years now, Ilija Rudman blasted out well over 70 releases to this day touching almost every sub-style in these two categories. Eclectic in his DJ-ing with wide brilliance in the studio, he managed to implement a unique sound carrier through all of his musical paths. Starting with his Red Music Records back in 2003 and subsequently igniting his Imogen Recording, now legendary label in the disco-house sphere, where artists like Charles Webster (Presence), Ilan Kabiljo, Robert Owens, Don Carlos, Darshan Jesrani, Dos Palos (Faze Action) or The Brand New Heavies are collaborating with Ilija on original music, aimed for an audience with a very sophisticated sense of quality. Naturally, he made his mark on multiple other labels like Rong Music, Bear Funk, 2020 Vision, Electric Minds, Jisco Music/UTS, Instruments Of Rapture, Is It Balearic, Compost Records, Wolf Music, Tirk, Love Is War Music, ISM, IRMA, Azuli or Defected/Classic Music Company exposing and establishing him at the forefront of the scene in the last decade. Five studio albums are just the topping of the entire work done in this large span and 2021 brings us his newest album under the DEAD HORSE GANG moniker. It’s a brainchild music band/brand by Ilija dedicated to cinematic dance concept laying on the Los Angeles Funk attitude, Art Of Noise perception of sound and raw 12-bit grooves making a statement of mid 80’s culture with surf vibe of California summer. “Dead Horse Gang Music is more than music, it is a way of life, a way of thinking, a path to a maximum freedom of the one, who can accept it.” -Ilija Rudman</image:caption>

<image:title>Life Recorder</image:title>
<image:caption>Far from the hype, french DJ/Producer Kriss Life Recorder keeps building his own craft since some time now, showing his forever inspirations rooted into Detroit, Chicago deep techno/house sound culture and travelling through many genres. Based in the city of Marseille and born in the french suburbs of Geneva, he started to DJ and connect to the music, record shops and club culture in this area during the 90'ies. Puting his first foot into production with a more Detroit and techno sound things got more serious a few years later just after moving in Marseille with his acclaimed release "No Look Back" on Keith Worthy's Detroit imprint “Aesthetic Audio” puting some light on a more deep house oriented and personal sound, giving him a new momentum and giving birth to new releases on labels like Bokhari, Argumento, Grounded In Humanity, Sound Reflection in Chicago or in 2018 on Hizou Deep Rooted with his "Pressure Jazz" EP. Although he has been recognized for some of his productions the past few years, Kriss firstly comes from the DJ culture showing his skills and a real ability to mix together deep house and techno atmospheres travelling to old and new territories. He had chance to show it with gigs accross europe and middle east locations with stops at Tresor Berlin, Jane Fitz's Night Moves party in London, Tel Aviv, Mallorca, Belgrade or Tbilisi. In the meantime he is a more regular on Marseille's local scene also working with collective and record shop Extend & Play. Trying to focus on the meaning of his music, Life Recorder keeps flying over where his music takes him. In 2017 he takes a new step and gives birth to his own label naturally called Life Notes Recordings in order to keep pushing his own vision of music also now using the alias of Motion Process.</image:caption>

<image:title>Dego</image:title>
<image:caption>Crossing the boundaries of soul, jazz, boogie, jungle, drum and bass, breakbeat, techno, hip hop, brazilian and broken beat, Dego has made an immeasurable influence on the UK dance and electronica music scene spanning the 90s and early noughties. Words. Absorbing a lifetime’s worth of soul, reggae and hip-hop growing up in North-West London, Dego was a sound system selector before he had left school and a pirate radio DJ not long after. Developing as a producer, his first releases were at the dawn of the 1990s as part of 4hero, dance music pioneers for whom jungle and drum n’ bass was their work’s exoskeleton, shooting off into techno and jazz. Their sound was freely infused with myriad musical influences and a wealth of renegade London spirit, supported along the way by all-star guests like Larry Mizell, Roy Ayers and Terry Callier. They turned out a slew of albums – among them 1994’s Parallel Universe, the Mercury Prize-nominated Two Pages in 1998 and 2001’s Creating Patterns - each one a thrilling statement of musicianship, a shade ahead of the pulse of modern British black music and a deft balance of the avant-garde and daring futurism. At the start of the 2000s Dego, Phil Asher, IG Culture and a cast of other likeminded Londoners started Co-Op at the Velvet Rooms, a clubland home for a fresh new scene that was emerging. The sound of the club was maybe best captured in 4hero’s ‘Hold It Down’, a Dego-written minor hit. His 2000BLACK label, meanwhile, was gallantly carving out its own niche via a series of singles, albums and compilations, its output an uncompromising concoction of house, techno and soul, or just London boogie for short. Then his first solo album A Wha’ Him Deh Pon?, a storming, sprawling twenty-track opus, won across-the-board acclaim in 2011. After a spell working in New York in the mid-2000s, Dego returned to his London roots and picked up where he left off. A reinvigorated 2000BLACK put out the Tatham, Mensah, Lord & Ranks long player, an exemplary piece of teamwork with frequent collaborators Kaidi Tatham, Matt Lord and Akwasi Mensah. And in 2013 and 2014 Dego embarked on a string of hotly received 12” releases: a diverse three-tracker on Italian imprint Neroli; a one-two punch combo of EPs for Eglo and Brooklyn producer Falty DL’s Blueberry Records; and another deadly triple-header on Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature. Dego’s sound might be difficult to pin down – naturally morphing into something else when you think you’ve got it figured out – but what remains consistent is his vivid awareness of the wisdom in leaving genres out of the picture and letting the music itself do the dirty work.</image:caption>

<image:title>Patrice Scott</image:title>
<image:caption>Patrice Scott is one of Detroit's top producers of deep house and techno music. Patrice Scott’s roots in the Detroit music scene go a long way back. At the age of just 11 he lived down the road from early DJ group Direct Drive and it was at these block parties that Scott decided that this is what he wanted to do. That his inspiration should be so deeply rooted in live music and the dance floor environment makes sense – he has become known as one of the most innovative and dynamic club DJs from the Motor City with his own deep and textured house & techno sound. In those early days of the Detroit techno scene Patrice was exposed to legendary artist and disc jockeys like Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills as well as radio personality The Electrifying Mojo. Patrice also was profoundly inspired by the Chicago Sounds of Larry Heard, Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles a few hundred miles west. Patrice’s music reflects much of the rich sound palette of deep house and techno from the 1990’s but combines this with a sense of constant innovation which depends less on trends and fashions and more on Scott’s own passion for seeking out an otherworldliness in music. In 2006 Scott launched his own imprint, Sistrum Recordings, which has since released a long series of records to ongoing critical acclaim. 2015 saw the long awaited release of this debut album – “Euphonium” – where Scott displayed “jaw – dropping production prowess, both from a programming and compositional perspective” (Resident Advisor) Patrice Scott remains one of the scenes most ambitious and interesting figures with a relentless focus on unique music, the dance floor environment and collaborating with a compelling selection of American and European artists.</image:caption>

<image:title>Specter</image:title>
<image:caption>Specter’s interest in house music piqued in the 80s, when the wunderkind genre blew up in the city of Chicago. Specter would tape and devour the novel, often raw and eventually legendary mixes from radio stations like WBMX, WCYC, WCRX, WKKC and WGCI. His early influences include DJs like Farley Jackmaster Funk, Edward Get Down Crosby, Mickey Oliver, Bobby Q Bobby, Lee Collins, Lil Louis and the inimitable Ron Hardy. Inspired by UK techno in the 90s, he was deeply connected with Sound Signature records and artists and so began a collaboration with the team and boss Theo Parrish, releasing 'The Gooch' EP and Rolling Stones-acclaimed 'Build To Last' album in 2018, coined a record you need to know. Alongside that strong connection, he founded the Chi Deep House label Tetrode Music with releases from Damon Lamar as well as his own. Specter's sound brings the real Detroit balance between soul and heavy industrial nuances, stemming from soul, disco to deep house and techno.</image:caption>
